Growing up in a typical working-class family in the North during the 80s and 90s meant my meals consisted mainly of meat, vegetables, and potatoes. Growing up, my family's move from the North to the Midlands inadvertently led me to switch dance schools, a decision that shaped my dance journey in unexpected ways. While my initial school boasted exceptional teachers and invaluable training, the transition to a new location prompted a shift to the nearest dance studio, which, although not subpar, didn't quite meet the standards I had become accustomed to. Reflecting on this experience, I realised the importance of informed decision-making in choosing the right dance school.
